He is Risen!
Happy Easter and welcome to CHRIST United Methodist Church's Easter Sunrise service on the beach! As morning breaks over the ocean, you're invited to engage however you feel most comfortable. We will sing hymns, which you can find below, and hear a message of hope and inspiration. This service is open to all, and we invite you to share in this beautiful and meaningful experience.
We would love to meet you this morning, and see you again at any of our upcoming gatherings! You can see some of the events we have coming up at the bottom of the page. We are grateful to be on the journey with you!
Up From the Grave He Arose
Verse 1
Low in the grave He lay, Jesus my Savior
Waiting for the coming day, Jesus my Lord
Up from the grave He arose
With a mighty triumph o’er his foes
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
and He lives forever, with his saints to reign
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!
Verse 2
Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior;
He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!
Up from the grave He arose
With a mighty triumph o’er his foes
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
and He lives forever, with his saints to reign
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!
Death Was Arrested
Verse 1
Alone in my sorrow and dead in my sin
Lost without hope with no place to begin
Your love Made a way to let mercy come in
When death was arrested and my life began
Ash was redeemed only beauty remains
My orphan heart was given a name
My mourning grew quiet my feet rose to dance
When death was arrested and my life began
Chorus
Oh, Your grace so free
Washes over me
You have made me new
Now life begins with You
It's your endless love
Pouring down on us
You have made us new
Now life begins with You
Verse 2
Released from my chains, I'm a prisoner no more
My shame was a ransom He faithfully bore
He cancelled my debt, and He called me His friend
When death was arrested and my life began
Chorus
Verse 3
Our savior displayed on a criminal's cross
Darkness rejoiced as though heaven had lost
But then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand
That's when death was arrested and my life began
Chorus
Ending
Oh, we're free, free. Forever we're free!
Come join the song of all the redeemed
Yes, we're free free. Forever amen!
When death was arrested and my life began
Oh, we're free, free. Forever we're free!
Come join the song of all the redeemed
Yes, we're free, free. Forever amen!
When death was arrested and my life began
When death was arrested and my life began
When death was arrested and my life began

Scripture Reading: John 21:1-9
Later, Jesus himself appeared again to his disciples at the Sea of Tiberias. This is how it happened: Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, Zebedee’s sons, and two other disciples were together. Simon Peter told them, “I’m going fishing.” They said, “We’ll go with you.” They set out in a boat, but throughout the night they caught nothing. Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples didn’t realize it was Jesus. Jesus called to them, “Children, have you caught anything to eat?” They answered him, “No.” He said, “Cast your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.”
So they did, and there were so many fish that they couldn’t haul in the net. Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It’s the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard it was the Lord, he wrapped his coat around himself (for he was naked) and jumped into the water. The other disciples followed in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they weren’t far from shore, only about one hundred yards. When they landed, they saw a fire there, with fish on it, and some bread.

Receiving Communion
Resurrecting
The head that once was crowned with thorns is crowned with glory now.
The Savior knelt to wash our feet; now at His feet we bow.
The One Who wore our sin and shame now robed in majesty.
The radiance of perfect love now shines for all to see.
Your name, Your name is victory.
All praise will rise to Christ our King.
Your name, Your name is victory
All praise will rise to Christ our King.
The fear that held us now gives way to Him Who is our peace.
His final breath upon the cross is now alive in me.
The tomb where soldiers watched in vain
Was borrowed for three days.
His body there would not remain.
Our God has robbed the grave.
Our God has robbed the grave.
Your name, Your name is victory.
All praise will rise to Christ our King.
Your name, Your name is victory
All praise will rise to Christ our King.
Living Hope
Verse 1
How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation, I turned to heaven
And spoke Your name into the night
Then through the darkness, Your loving kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished, the end is written
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Verse 2
Who could imagine so great a mercy?
What heart could fathom such boundless grace?
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken, I am forgiven
The King of kings calls me His own
Beautiful Savior, I'm Yours forever
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Chorus
Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There's salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There's salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Verse 3
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence, the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
Jesus, Yours is the victory, whoa!
Chorus
Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There's salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There's salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Jesus Christ, my living hope
Oh God, You are my living hope
Because He Lives
Verse 1
God sent His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive
He lived and died to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.
Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives.
